Musharraf bail rejected in Judges detention case---TRAVESTY

PM salute courthouseMay 22nd, 2013: Dr. Raza Bokhari, International spokesperson and North American Point of Contact to General Musharraf, confirmed that the bail petition of Former President Musharraf in the Judges detention case was rejected earlier today.

We are disappointed to learn that Justice Kausar Zaidi demonstrated prejudice and rejected the bail request of the Former President.

It is a travesty that General Musharraf, who at one time led the Global War against Terrorism, currently is a strong voice against terrorism on the world stage, has survived 11 terrorist attempts on his life and is presently facing specific and credible terrorist threats, is being held in judicial custody for more than a month on allegations of perpetuating terrorism against certain Judges that were allegedly detained in 2007.

The allegations leveled against Former President Musharraf are false and politically motivated. It is also important to note that the petitioner, Advocate Ghuman, who had filed the original complaint against the Former President in 2011 has voluntarily withdrawn his grievance. We expect that the High Court, on appeal, will conform to the Rule of Law and precedence and immediately extend bail to the Former President.
