Pakistan Election Outcome---A Level Playing Field was Absent

Election 2013 with chess piecesMay 11th, 2013: Dr. Raza Bokhari, International Spokesman and North American Point of Contact to General Pervez Musharraf, Former President of Pakistan and Ch...ief of All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) issued the following statement:

In the face of lawlessness and terrorist threats, it is noteworthy that the People of Pakistan came out in large numbers to exercise their right to vote. In the midst of celebration by victors, it is important to underscore that a level playing field was absent in this election.

If the coordinated actions between a malicious Judiciary and Taliban militants had not prevented Former President Musharraf from participating in the elections and had not impeded other liberal and progressive voices in the country from openly canvassing, the election outcome would have been remarkably different.

Former President Musharraf may be currently muzzled, but these unjust challenges are not dampening his resolve and passion to continue to strive for the people of Pakistan to lead a better life; a life in which they can live in peace and happiness with abundant economic opportunities without threat from vicious militants, intolerant extremists and an activist judiciary accruing unwarranted powers.
